The Work I Have Done
To those of us who deal with the minds and hearts of young people, impact is not easily measurable. The work is emotional labor and the results are unfinished. It is an accumulation of doing good work with as many learners as you can. Innovation is part devotion and part defiance. Always feeding the universal need for meaning, connection, and growth.

40 years devoted to drawing out the intellect and amplifying the imagination and goodness in students and teachers, makes me an idealist. A purveyor of human possibility and potential. As teacher and leader, in schools and community spaces, I’ve chased after the meaning of democracy, hope, and human capacity because the world invited me to see justice and beauty through education.
